threading - fatlah - khite

why use wax, tweezers or electrolysis when you can get rid of your extra hair for pretty much nothing? say hello to threading (if you haven't heard of it already). it has been around for ages in the middle east. apparently the women of ancient persian used to do thread their whole face (ouch) for their weddings and also used it to display that they had reached adulthood (i still prefer my 21st birthday party).
some of my friends have got it done on their eyebrows before. One swears by it and swears that it doesn't hurt. Another friend says the pain is like waxing your scalp about 70 times. but both say the result is a lot better than conventional waxing or tweezing.
i haven't tried it yet myself. apparently you can do it at home by just using a regular old sewing cotton that you twist and pull along the skin which rips the hair out of the follicle. the pain thing still scares me so i haven't tried it yet. i am a tweezers girl myself. if you have tried it drop me a line and tell me your thoughts on the pain and the results.

watch this video below. it is the best one i found on threading. the lady Sameera who does it is great, and they even show YOU how to do it. If you do watch it get ready for some funky Indian Style Music... im warning you.... by the way the results look fantastic. the eyebrows are so neat and tidy and the straight lines... wow.. thats all i can say. i cant get eyebrows this good from tweezing... remember ladies that we are not supposed to change the shape of the brows as Muslimahs. i suggest using this only for getting rid of stray facial and eyebrow hairs.
