so, i was thinking right... well actually i was about to buy...
i was about to buy some abayas. i kept looking at them online thinking ""i could so make this at home", because in reality most of them are just plain black abayas (which are VERY easy to sew yourself) with just some lace, beads or sequins sewn on or some little crystals have been glued on. sooooo easy to make.
so i thought "stuff it" and decided to make my own. its gonna be a lot of fun and easy to do. i have made abayas before and its very fuss free and easy - the hardest thing is to decide on what kind of design i wanna go for. i started saving pics of the ones that i could copy. so insha'Allah i will make one and then post the pics so you guys can check it out.

gorgeous sleeves - just need to sew on some appliques...
love the pleats on this piece - very sweet - but i would swap that beige for some dark brown or black...
