you and i mostly know what is good and proper islamic hijab.
we know what constitutes proper hijab.
we know how to dress.
you have heard it from people in your own life, from reading, from islamic lectures, maybe the imam at your local masjid has touched on the issue....
i have also gone and talked about it with examples on blog quite a few times. i have pointed out areas of concern in a GENERAL way... not in a way that points fingers to the girls who are brave enough to send in their pics for us all to see to demonstrate their real hijabi style from whatever country they are from.
i thought this would be a way for us to celebrate, appreciate and experience 'hijab' from the perspective of other people and other cultures.
if someone sends in pics and their top is a little tight, or they are showing a little bit of hair, or they are wearing pants, or abaya, or niqab, or tights or a dress made entirely out of water balloons... then i thank them so much for sending them in!
dont go around and criticise and personally point out what they are doing wrong. i have said in a general manner in general posts about what is bad hijab. there is NO WAY that i am going to do it to a muslima in a personal public way on this blog. its not my job and its not the way naseeha should be done.. so please dont ask me to.
if a girl sends in her pics and one of them has her neck showing or she is wearing tights or her arms are showing a bit... then i will go a head and post them, because either the girl already knows what is proper hijab and is making her way towards it or she doesnt understand what is proper hijab and is still learning.
this does not make it ok for anyone to start calling her out in a nasty way for her clothing.
i also wont be stopping the series either (as someone asked). i think it is a good way to share and demonstrate hijabi style from around the world that we most probably wouldn't see and im sure most people get cool style ideas and tricks or hijab styling ideas from the sisters who send in their wonderful pics than they would by following any non-hijab appropriate looks being displayed.
we should all stick the the masha'allah and beautiful comments and not call people out for their personal faults. if you really feel like you must mention about something that you find inappropriate then i think you should do it in a certain manner.
and this doesnt refer to just the previous entry i did in the series. i have wanted to write this post for a long time because of some comments and nasty emails i have received about a particular girl's attire.
so... we good?
are we ready for the next real life hijabi entry?
EDIT::
i was asked by a few people to solve this issue by no posting pics that i consider to be incorrect hijab.... here is why i wont do that:
because its not my job to edit and approve people's phtos.
as i said before - i have made clear my own perception of correct hijab. so most readers know what is right and what is wrong. i think we are all intelligent and islamically aware of correct hijab to know that when looking at a girl what is proper and improper about her clothing and i think we are an evolved enough species to focus on what is good and inspiring about her hijab and not focus on the incorrect aspects and pay her out because of it.
and anyway - what i find to be correct hijab by my perceptions and interpretations could be completely different to someone elses so im not going to edit or reject someone's pics.
